'A Bid for a greener Future'

A Brief for LogicaCMG Delegates at Morden Hall Park NT Property

Introduction

The National Trust has been working with Strategis to develop experiential learning options into bespoke training programmes for corporate clients. This relationship has proved to be very successful in terms of mutual benefit to clients and host. By taking real life operational needs from a multifaceted voluntary sector organisation delegates are involved in a range of diverse, challenging and rewarding projects that provide a unique learning journey whilst being beneficial to both the local community and The National Trust.

Context

A primary aim across the National Trust is to engender a feeling amongst the local community stakeholder groups that local Trust properties are a resource for them and in doing so we aim to develop a pro-active approach to community involvement. This aim goes back to the roots of the National Trust when it was set up as a philanthropic organisation to help provide a remedy to increasing industrialisation, by providing what was known as a Green Lung to underprivileged individuals. Today the National Trust look to increase access to their properties and indeed their mission statement is "For ever, for everyone".

The Project

In order to work towards the National Trusts goal for Morden Hall Park becoming a carbon neutral property several projects need to be undertaken. Funding is therefore required and Morden Hall Park is looking to you to produce a video to support a £4.5 million Lottery Heritage Award bid.

  1. Establish priorities of the Heritage Lottery guidelines to use in the supporting video.
  2. Work closely with the local community to demonstrate how interaction with Morden Hall Park can lead to beneficial and rewarding experiences.
  3. Utilise the project information from previous groups, design a programme to support the Heritage bid. Incorporating how they have involved the local community with their plans for development focussing on the areas that will be judged by the awarding body.
  4. Develop the video to explain the process of the application and the regeneration planned for the park.
  5. Deliver an on-site presentation to LogicaCMG, Strategis and National Trust Management
